Momentous Birthdays. . .

So, "they" are saying that 40 is the new 20. . .

So, if 40 is the new 20, then no one will mind that I am announcing that someone in my family turned 40 last weekend. . .

I made this card to celebrate this momentous occasion. . .

And I go to eat Indian food! All is well. . .

I used a retired paper pack from my stash and combined it with Ponderosa Pine cardstock. I topped it all of with our new Shimmer Trim and our Pixie Glitter Alphabet for the numbers. . .
I am not normally into all of the "bling-bling", but man I love that stuff!!!

I had so much fun getting to spend time with the Birthday Girl! Here is to many more!!!

And out of respect I will not tell you that she is the one in the middle. . .

What Goes on Behind the Scenes. . .

The following two pictures are behind the scenes photos as taken by my four year old.

It seems like if I ever try to get some crafting in then I end up with little munchkins wanting to join in the fun . . . usually slowing the process down dramatically!

I was trying to finish up a birthday card and he picked up my camera and started snapping away.

Most of the pictures are out of focus, but here are a couple that stood out.

I love looking at pictures that my kids take.
They are on a totally different level. . .and I am talking about altitude not aptitude!

I love the perspective of the above picture.
When was the last time you were eye level with the edge of a table?

The action shot he captured below is pretty cool. . . kinda interesting to see yourself at work.

I then removed the expensive equipment from his sticky paws and turned the lens on him.

As much as it interferes with my productivity I love being interrupted by this guy!

We do have to share the space after all. . .

and he needs his hair trimmed. . .

The Last of the December Birthdays. . .

I realize that it is now January, but I have a policy of not posting my cards until I hand them out, and I didn't get this one out until that past weekend. . .

I opted to hold onto it and deliver it in person rather than sending it off in the mail.

I used the Dotty For You paper pack along with some shimmer trim, bakers twine , rick rack ribbon and some bitty gems.

The stamp set is from the current catalog and is called Casual Expressions. I received it at the amazing and free workshop that I attended a while back. Love it!

(You can click on the stamp image and it will take you directly to my website.)

I also loved being able to create this card for my sister-in-law, whom I have gotten to see a lot more since they, too, moved to the East coast!

Happy Birthday, Kendra!

A perfect mix. . .

My son is loud.

My "thon" has a lisp.

My son talks all the time. . . all the time. . .ALL the time. . .

My son loves "monthter truckth" and "legoth". . .

While a lot of him is all boy, when he is actually quiet, no need to worry and fear the worst. . .

You will find him in the craft room engaged in his other favorite pastime. . .

Give that boy some paper, markers and some scissors and you won't be seeing him for at least an hour.

What does he spend all that time drawing, you might ask?

Monthter truckth, of course!!!

A bit of advice to become a great artist. . . the tongue helps. . .
