Table Scraps. . .

So. . . .

I was cleaning up my table in my craft room last night (gasp!)
and I came across several bits and pieces from recent projects.

I decided to try and come up with some quick cards rather than do what I usually do and put all of the pieces into a drawer or bag and promptly forget they ever existed!

This is the first card I made with leftover piece of cardstock (I didn't even cut it),  the center from a bracket frame cut on my Cricut, and leftover flower and leaves from another card.

I added the sparkle (Z1754), bakers twine (Z1702) and letters (Z1779).

Love it!

The next card I used another little piece of cardstock, with a leftover flower stamped from  Just For You (B1398) that I didn't end up using on another card, the center jewel was left over from my daughter's BD card.

I added silver shimmer trim (Z1799), ribbon and a stamped sentiment.

Love it! Love it!

Hopefully this will inspire some of you to. . .

1.Clean up your space!!!!

2.And use up those table scraps!!!!

Layered Flower Birthday Card. . .

It is my daughter's birthday next weekend and I actually remembered to make her a card!

I have no idea why, but I don't think that I have ever made her one. . .
what is that old saying about the cobbler's kids and their lack of shoes?

I made this card using inspiration from page 42 of our new Make It From Your Heart Vol.1.

I cut this flower from Cotton Candy card stock. .
2 - 3 inch
2 -2.75 inch
2 - 2.5 inch
2 - 2.25 inch
2 - 2 inch

I inked them with Cotton Candy Ink, curled the edges with our quilling tool, and glued them together, shifting the petals each time.

I finished it off with a bling button and one of our new Pink Glitter Jems.

I then attached it to my card base that I used:
White Daisy card (5x7)
Whisper card stock (4.75x6.75)
the pink is from the Chantilly Paper Pack (2x4.75)
and finally our slate ribbon (looove that ribbon!).

I stamped the sentiment with Slate ink using our Card Chatter - Birthday stamp set.

Hope she likes it!!!

Here are a list of the supplies I used:
Make It From Your Heart 9035
Cricut Art Philosophy Collection Z1686
Chantilly paper pack X7163B
Whisper card stock X5933 (combo pack)

February Birthday Card. . .

Here is a card a made for my brother's birthday this past week.

I think that this is the second card in a row that I have made using the Dotty For You paper pack from a past constant campaign. I seem to keep coming back to this one for birthday cards. I seriously can't get enough of it!

Happy Birthday, Big Brother!

Momentous Birthdays. . .

So, "they" are saying that 40 is the new 20. . .

So, if 40 is the new 20, then no one will mind that I am announcing that someone in my family turned 40 last weekend. . .

I made this card to celebrate this momentous occasion. . .

And I go to eat Indian food! All is well. . .

I used a retired paper pack from my stash and combined it with Ponderosa Pine cardstock. I topped it all of with our new Shimmer Trim and our Pixie Glitter Alphabet for the numbers. . .
I am not normally into all of the "bling-bling", but man I love that stuff!!!

I had so much fun getting to spend time with the Birthday Girl! Here is to many more!!!

And out of respect I will not tell you that she is the one in the middle. . .

The Last of the December Birthdays. . .

I realize that it is now January, but I have a policy of not posting my cards until I hand them out, and I didn't get this one out until that past weekend. . .

I opted to hold onto it and deliver it in person rather than sending it off in the mail.

I used the Dotty For You paper pack along with some shimmer trim, bakers twine , rick rack ribbon and some bitty gems.

The stamp set is from the current catalog and is called Casual Expressions. I received it at the amazing and free workshop that I attended a while back. Love it!

(You can click on the stamp image and it will take you directly to my website.)

I also loved being able to create this card for my sister-in-law, whom I have gotten to see a lot more since they, too, moved to the East coast!

Happy Birthday, Kendra!

Super Bro Card. . .

I made this card for my little brother's birthday, cause I think he is super!

Happy Birthday, James!

(He likes to be called James now, rather than Jamey. . .it makes him feel grown up! )

Tis The Season. . .

Now begins the Birthday Card Roundup!!!

I consider December to be the start of the birthday season, since we have at latest count 7 December birthdays in my family. . . and I am sure I am forgetting someone!

I am reeeeeally good at that!

This year, since I am finally almost settled in the new house after our 2 year long move, I am going to make a valiant effort to actually remember everyone's birthdays this year. . .

Specifically the one's that begin with "sister" and end with "in-law". . .

I think you know who you are!

Anyway, kicking it off this year is my Aunt Ann.

Turns out the love of the color orange is genetic.

Happy Birthday!

Ocean Birthday Cards. . .

These are two birthday cards that I made for my niece and nephew, who turned four this past week.

I was in the mood to do something a little different and chose to do an ocean theme for their September birthdays.

I use the Under the Sea stamp set (C1500) and the Footloose paper pack (X7151B), along with some Wooden Badge buttons (Z1703) and other little embellishments from my stash.

Happy Birthday to my favorite twins!

Happy Belated Birthday. . .

My sis-in-law had another "29th" birthday in March. . .
I really didn't forget her birthday, but I just wasn't able to make her a card due to the fact that we were in the middle of unpacking and my crafty space was kinda low on the priority list. . .
shocking, I know!

I can say, however, that hers was the first card made in Buttercup's Room!

This stamp set is one of my favorites. I just want to tickle the belly of that little hedgehog.

You might think that the story ends here, but you would be oh, so, wrong!

I completed the card and then it took me about a week to get it into the mail box. . .this is where it gets interesting. You see, my sis-in-law lives in Fontana, CA. . .the people of SoCal tend to call her city Fontucky since it used to be out in the middle of nowhere. I now live in KY. . .apparently I combined those two thoughts and addressed her card to Fontana, KY!
Blessed be the postal workers of our great country. . .it actually made it to her!!!

I think that I might need to start getting some more sleep. . .

Happy Birthday, Aunt Kerry!!!

We really do wish you lived in KY!

My Old Man. . .

Farm Boy had a birthday this week.

We got to have a quick kid-less dinner on the day and then some cake before we put the runts to bed.
Yesterday I made his birthday dinner and presented him with his card.
Morgan picked him his favorite wildflowers (daisy fleabane), which smell delightful!

When I was 19 years old I met a man that would become my best friend.
Three years later he would become my husband.
Eight years ago Morgan made him the father of my children.
Two months ago he became my Farm Boy in earnest.
Today he continues to be the hardest working, most dedicated man I know.
I get to share my life with this amazing man.

Happy Birthday, Love!!!

Flower Card. . .

I made an attempt last week to get my craft room organized a bit so that I could put together a few birthday cards. . .my sister-in-law's was WAY overdue, but I will do a separate post for her just to make sure she has had time to get her card in the mail.

I made this card for my mamma.

I wanted the card to match her gift. . .

I like things that are matchy-matchy. It is one of my obsessions.

For the old lady

I saw this vase at Anthropology and knew it needed to be in her home.

She loves flowers, and birds, and babies and her puppies

Happy Birthday, Mom!!!

Yo, Bro!

Up next on the Birthday list is my big brother. He is a Cali boy, too, but is taking a hiatus is WV with his wife and two boys. It has been fun being able to see them more. I truly never thought that I would have all of my siblings within driving distance at the same time!

Ha! I am sitting here writing this post at 4am, looking at a picture of the finished card and just realized that I made him one year older than he is! True, he is pushing 40, but he still has three years to go, not two! It looks like I will be busting out the stamps tomorrow and fixing the card.

Note: This is the updated card. I wouldn't want to embarrass myself in front of everyone and display my airheadedness
(Is that a word? It should be)! People might make fun of me.

Note on the Note: Stop laughing at me.

Happy Birthday, Old Man!

My Valentine. . .

Today I gave Farmboy the best Valentine's Day gift I could think of. . .

I put the kids in the car and we drove away!

Three evenings of peace and quiet just for him.

And a card. . .

Happy Valentine's Day, Love! We will see you in three days!

Place your bets!

These cards make me happy!
I had made them to go with this layout and took my pictures and forgot to add them
to the blog post. I really love the cheerful colors, especially in the midst of winter. . .

I must digress, though, down a bunny trail. . .

This winter has been muy, muy disappointing. I have a hankerin' for a good snow! With my luck, however, it will be deposited on the ground the weekend we move. . .
Let's just see if I jinxed myself, shall we?

I just came up with a delightful idea! Leave a comment below as to if you think "The Big Move" will get snowed out. I will randomly select someone who guesses right and send the winner a set of cards (or a card kit to make their own)!

Ready to place your bets?

The Grateful Kittens. . .

When we went on our trip to SoCal a few weeks ago our neighbors made sure our kitties were fed.

It was a very neighborly thing for them to do.

I made them some cookies and this little card as a, "thank you!"

Signed by the boys of course!

So. . .who wants to watch the kitties next time?

Winter Thank You Cards

Here are a couple of thank you cards I made a few weeks ago.

For the first card I stamped the snowflakes with white ink and
then put glitter glue in the centers for added detail.
I colored in the bird using a blending pen and
then finished the card up by distressing all of the edges.

The second card used a stamp from a VERY well used stamp set
(I hand stamped all of my brother's wedding invitations).
It was fun revisiting this one!

Hope you are having a cozy winter!

Birthday's galore. . .

Tis the season for birthdays in my extended family. It started in December and will continue marching right on through the spring. My goal is to create a card for each family member and then post it during the week of their birthday.

December Birthdays

The first card was for my baby brother and you can see that here.

Next came my sister-in-law for whom I made the Aloha Card set seen here.

Now for my sweet neice Anna, who didn't get hers on her birthday. . oopsie! The thing you have to know about Anna is that she looooooves ponies, so for her card I found this stamp set in my bin and then hit the scrap stash for the paper and ribbon. I loooooooove this card!!!

And I looooove my niece! Happy Birthday, Anna Banana!

January Birthday

This card is for my big little sister. She is my big sister. . .but she is very little. . .hehehe!
I went for a bit of an Asian feel with this card, because she might as well be Asian. . just sayin'.
I love the colors of this card. . .especially the soft blue. . .like her eyes. . .again, just sayin'.

She is sweet and she is perty! She is my sister and my best friend. Love you, Jenn!

On to February. The end.

WVU Birthday Card

My little brother turned 30.
My baby brother grew up.

My wittle baby brover is a man. . . and a doctor.
How did this happen?

Why does it make me feel so old?

My brother graduated from WVU and still "occasioanlly" watches their football games and has maybe even been to a game or twenty, so I wanted to make him a fun yet "manly" card,
 'cause he's a man now. . .

But no matter how OLD he gets he will still be my baby brother. Love you!
